SYLKA, the business behind one of the world’s most luxurious collections of carpets and rugs, has received an International Product Design Award (IPDA) from Design et al.
Prestigious publication, Design et al, crowned SYLKA as winner of the Flooring, Carpet and Rugs category at this year’s IPDA, following an overwhelming response from the general public during the voting process.
SYLKA’s Managing Director, Steve Farrell, received the award during a glamorous awards evening held at The Hurlingham Club in London on Friday 25 September.
Speaking after the awards, Steve said: “Everyone at SYLKA is delighted to be receiving such a prestigious award and it is made all the more special that our selection has come from the general public.
“It is astonishing to think that in just three years we have become such a well-recognised brand in the world of luxury interior design.”
The aim of the IPDA is to celebrate design, recognise talent, create opportunities and offer inspiration to other interior design professionals.
Thanks to its innovative use of the NuSilk micro-fibre system, SYLKA has become popular with internationally renowned interior designers, such as Kelly Hoppen, Hill House Interiors and a number of luxury retailers, such as Hugo Boss, Harrods and Ralph & Russo.
This is down to SYLKA’s unique design characteristics that make it hard wearing, easy to clean and resistant to sun damage, whilst still retaining the delicate feel and luxury of pure silk.
“I think this award speaks volumes, not only about our collection of luxury rugs and carpets, but also about our approach as a business, which we know our customers value,” added Steve.
